Portfolio manager Axel Merk tells BNN there is no safe haven anywhere in the world

"...'There is no safe haven anymore anywhere in the world. We are very concerned about the stock market, everyone is conditioned to buy on every dip. We don't think bonds are the place to be. I think bonds may be the worst investment over the next couple of decades. You want to be more on the conservative side, but cash is losing purchasing power in many places around the world. So what it means is that investors need to throw out that risk-free component in their portfolio[…] we think policy makers will remain very active in the markets and the currency market may be a nice way to play that without taking on the risks of either the equities market or interest rate risk as you do in the bond market.'..."
